Hp folio 131/29/2024 ![]() ![]() Fit your 8GB SODIMM, then reverse the above process. Now replace the RAM SODIMM, push the two metal levers outwards and the SODIMM will spring out – with some force!.Due to the short and relatively thick wire used this connector keeps pushing itself back into the socket, so watch out. Be careful not to short any of the pins if you’re using a metal object to prise the connector out of its socket. Undo the remaining ZIF cables attaching the inner face to the base of the laptop, and remove the inner face completely. ![]() These two ZIF connectors have flip-up levers to allow the cables to be removed. The keyboard cables are fitted such that it folds up along the bottom edge (with the spacebar) to allow you to remove the cables. Don’t lift the keyboard/inner face up too much as there are some pretty short ribbon cables on Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) connectors. Then I suggest unclipping along the top edge first. The way to start is by pressing up under the “Delete” and “Backspace” keys in the top-right corner – there’s a gap that you can get a finger into. This is quite nasty as it clips into the inner face fairly firmly. Something thinner and wider than a screwdriver ideally. Gently lever the metal inner face of the laptop away from the base, I suggest starting towards the hinge on the right-hand side as it seems to open easier there, then work your way around gently unclipping it.You want a Phillips #1 screwdriver for this. Remove all 16 screws from the bottom, they’re all the same so you don’t need to remember which went where. The quick version, plus a few hints, is as follows: I would suggest looking at the Service Guide – it explains how to remove the various components to get at the RAM. The upgrade process is a litle fiddly as you have to dismantle the unit somewhat to get at the RAM, but it is possible and does work – I’ve just done it: Performing this upgrade will almost certainly void your HP warranty though. However, the memory controller is contained within the i5-2467M CPU and it allows the unit to support 8GB of RAM. The HP Folio 13-2000 ships with 4GB RAM, and officially this is the only amount supported. ![]()
